Mexicans are not rejecting the American tradition; however, the fact is that divorces have increased drastically by 65.9 percent in the past 12 years, while new marriages decreased 20.8 percent. Same-sex marriages increased from 3 to 57 cases in 6 years due to a change in the laws.
