The Mexican Confederation of Employers (Coparmex) has stated their agreement to change the constitution to increase vacation time to double the current one. Legally, the vacation time for employees starts at 6 days the first year and increases 1 day for every additional day of employment, capped at a maximum of 10 days. The new legislation would start at 9 days, increasing three days the following year of employment, two more the third year, and cap it at 15 days. This change, said the Coparmex spokesperson, will increase productivity. And tourism, we say.
