Timeshare is the backbone of tourism in Los Cabos, with over 8,000 units for sale by the week. It is the industry that keeps Cabo going even in the slow summer season, and the first one that bounced back when restrictions caused by Covid-19 were lifted. However, the local Timeshare Association (Asudestico) is warning the public over Fake TimeShare Sales. These are people working outside of the approved booth when tourists are approached and invited to a presentation. Since 2014, the association has detected and dismantled 16 fraudulent operations. How to make sure the people that approach you are for real? They all wear a name tag with the association’s logo and a shirt with their resort’s logo. You have been warned.
