Hug a Firefighter Day!

 Hug a Firefighter Day!

Mexico celebrates Dia del Bombero (Firefighter’s Day) every August 22 since 1873, when the first Firefighters Station was inaugurated in the port of Veracruz, in the Gulf of Mexico. Most firefighters in Mexico are volunteers, the stations receive a minimum economical support from the government but are able to obtain firetrucks, equipment and even build new stations with the help of the community. No matter where you live, there’s a fire station nearby. Go hug a Firefighter, buy T-Shirts or other paraphernalia that they sell to obtain funding.
