 Mexico’s Open Skies Policy is Getting Closer

Just a few days before congress left for the holidays, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) sent a proposition to congress to open the skies of Mexico to foreign airlines that could service several destinations within the country. His proposition favors tourist destinations like Los Cabos. The Airlines’ Pilot’s Union spokesperson stated almost immediately that such competition would hurt national airlines big time, instead of producing cheaper air fares, which is AMLO’s alleged goal.
