Marea Violeta is the first women’s shore fishing tournament created to celebrate, promote, and empower female participation in recreational fishing in Baja California Sur. Taking place on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the beautiful Playa El Sargento, this unique event combines sport, community engagement, environmental awareness, and women’s empowerment in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

The tournament invites women of all experience levels from beginners to seasoned anglers to enjoy a day of friendly competition along one of the most scenic coastlines in the Sea of Cortez. Registration begins at 5:30 AM, allowing participants to start the day surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of the region while sharing their passion for fishing and the outdoors.

With a guaranteed prize pool of  1,744 dollars, competitors will have the opportunity to win cash prizes, including $407 dollars for first place, $291 dollars for second place, and $175 dollars for third place, along with 15 additional prizes of $59 dollars each. The event is designed to encourage participation and create an enjoyable experience for all competitors, regardless of skill level.
