The stain in Art – Art Workshop

The “Mar de Formas: La Mancha en el Arte” workshop is an engaging artistic program designed to explore the expressive potential of drawing through texture, shading, and spontaneous mark-making. Hosted at the Museo de Arte de Baja California Sur, this activity invites participants to experiment with the creative possibilities of “the stain” or “mancha” as a fundamental element in visual art.
Led by instructor Ximena González, the workshop focuses on developing observational and expressive drawing skills using techniques that emphasize contrast, gesture, and emotional interpretation. Participants will work with materials such as charcoal and other drawing tools to create compositions that move beyond traditional representation, encouraging freedom, creativity, and personal style.
Open to young people and adults aged 16 and above, the program provides a welcoming environment for both beginners and those with prior artistic experience. With limited availability, the workshop ensures a more personalized learning experience, allowing participants to receive guidance and feedback throughout the sessions.
The course will run from Tuesday the 5th to Friday the 15th, with sessions held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This schedule allows attendees to progressively develop their skills over multiple days while engaging with the museum’s artistic atmosphere.
“Mar de Formas: La Mancha en el Arte” is more than a technical workshop it is an invitation to explore creativity in a deeper and more intuitive way, fostering artistic growth, self-expression, and a stronger connection to contemporary art practices.
