Portrait and Narrative: Artists Workshop 2026

The “Portrait and Narrative: The Art of Storytelling Through Images” workshop will take place on Saturday, August 22, as part of the Mini MUABCS Artists Workshop program at the Museo de Arte de Baja California Sur in La Paz. This free, limited-capacity workshop is designed for children between 8 and 12 years old, offering a creative and educational space where participants can explore the connection between visual art, portraiture, and storytelling.
During the 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. session, young participants will be encouraged to discover how images can communicate ideas, emotions, characters, and stories without relying solely on words. Through artistic activities focused on portrait and narrative, children can experiment with the ways facial expressions, gestures, composition, and visual details can be used to create meaning and tell a story through their artwork.
The workshop provides an engaging opportunity for children to develop their creativity, observation skills, and artistic expression while learning to think about images as a form of visual language. Participation is free, although space is limited, and registration begins on Tuesday, August 18. The activity is part of the museum’s educational programming and seeks to introduce younger audiences to art in an accessible, interactive, and imaginative way.
