An urban history of Santa Rosalía 2026

Join a fascinating cultural and historical evening at the presentation of the book “Una historia urbana de Santa Rosalía” (“An Urban History of Santa Rosalía”), a special literary event dedicated to exploring the rich heritage, architecture, and social development of one of Baja California Sur’s most iconic towns. The event will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Museo de Historia de la Minería in the Pueblo Mágico of Santa Rosalía, Baja California Sur. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
Coordinated by architect and researcher Gilberto Piñeda Bañuelos, the book offers a detailed look into the urban evolution and historical identity of Santa Rosalía, a town internationally recognized for its mining legacy and unique French-influenced architecture. Through historical research, photographs, and analysis, the publication highlights the cultural importance of the city and its transformation through the years, preserving the memory and identity of the community for future generations.
The presentation will also feature commentary and discussion by distinguished guests Prof. Antonio César Beltrán Aguilar and Mtro. Alejandro Telechea Cienfuegos, who will share their perspectives on the historical, cultural, and social value of the work. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the historical significance of Santa Rosalía, engage in thoughtful conversations about regional heritage, and discover the importance of preserving local history through literature and academic research.
