Celebrate three centuries of history, culture, and memory in the heart of Santiago, Baja California Sur. On Monday, August 24, 2026, the community gathers at the Casa de la Cultura de la Delegación de Santiago to commemorate the 305th anniversary of the founding of the Misión de Santiago Apóstol (1721–2026).

This special day, titled “Fiesta del Intercambio y la Memoria” (Festival of Exchange and Memory), honors the deep historical and cultural roots of the mission through a morning program of ceremonies, literature, art, and historical reflection.

The celebration brings together local authorities, cultural institutions, historians, artists, and the community to reflect on the legacy of the mission and its enduring importance in the identity of the region. It is a meaningful opportunity to honor the past, appreciate traditional crafts, and strengthen the collective memory of Santiago.
