The Los Cabos Fisheries Directorate will oversee logistics and awards for the 2025 “La Orilla de la Baja” Shore Fishing Tournament, while the Public Services Department will assist with cleanup and setup. Business liaisons will manage sponsorships, and the Municipal Sports Institute will coordinate operational staff for the event.
As part of ongoing efforts by the Los Cabos City Council to promote sports and tourism, a planning meeting was held at the Municipal Tourism Directorate to finalize preparations for the tournament’s fourth edition. The event is scheduled for December 7 at Migriño Beach, offering a guaranteed prize purse of 200,000 pesos (approximately $10,800 USD), with cash prizes awarded to the top four competitors.
Representatives from various municipal and state agencies attended the meeting, including Public Services, Business Liaison, the Sports Institute, the Municipal Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and the Tourism Promotion Office. Together with the tournament’s general coordinator, Nidia Yukari Ruiz Viera, they discussed logistics, institutional support, promotion, security, and maintenance of the competition area at Migriño Beach.
To enhance the participant experience, organizers confirmed complementary activities such as live music, raffles, and commemorative T-shirts for the first registered participants.
Municipal tourism officials reaffirmed their commitment to supporting events that foster sportsmanship, family participation, and the responsible use of natural resources, values that align with the Los Cabos City Council’s vision of positioning the municipality as a leader in tourism, sports, and community engagement across Baja California Sur.
