The new camp in San Jose will host the 2025 International Congress of Firefighters and Brigadiers, featuring 300 emergency professionals from Chile, Argentina, and other states of Mexico.
The event is organized by the Fire Department and its board of trustees, with support from the municipal government, headed by Christian AgúndezGómez, and the private sector. Attendees will only cover lodging and food expenses. It will take place from Monday, October 6, to Friday, October 10, 2025.
Twenty-two instructors from the United States and twenty Mexicans will participate in the event, providing free training courses and lectures for firefighters and paramedics.
Six courses and five lectures will be offered, covering the following topics:
• Structural fire operations.
• Vehicle extrication.
• Incident command system.
• Fire investigation.
• Care for burn and crushed patients.
• Prevention in hotel brigades.
• Mental health in emergency services.
• Pre-hospital medical care.
• Prevention in tourist areas.
Commander Omar Barreras from the San José del Cabo Fire Department explained that, given the professional and tourism growth seen in Los Cabos, it is necessary to continue expanding their training and knowledge of emergency systems.
