The American newspaper highlighted Los Cabos as one of the 52 best places to visit this year. This distinction reflects the joint efforts of the public and private sectors to position the destination as one of the best worldwide.
Los Cabos is one of the most important destinations globally in international luxury tourism, ranking number 18 among the most relevant tourist destinations in the world for this year.
This recognition reinforces the destination's leadership as the only representative of Mexico in this exclusive selection, designed to highlight places that captivate the imagination of travelers with unforgettable experiences.
One of Los Cabos' main challenges for 2025 is to remain a world-class tourism benchmark. This destination, recognized for its quality service and unique experiences, continues to accumulate international awards, such as the “Best Destination in Mexico” award at Travel Weekly's Readers' Choice Awards in 2024.
The incomparable natural beauty of Los Cabos, its commitment to sustainability and its innovation in the tourism industry were key factors in obtaining this recognition.
Over the past two years, Los Cabos' promotional strategy has been widely recognized, accumulating more than 30 prestigious awards. In addition to the one mentioned above, it was also awarded by: Virtuoso Travel Awards, Global Traveler Leisure Lifestyle Awards, Travvy Awards, Davey Awards and Travel + Leisure.
Despite the challenges that the destination faced in 2024, such as a reduction in tourist arrivals, Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA) has redoubled its efforts to attract a luxury market. This segment not only seeks exclusive experiences, but also contributes significantly to the local economy. Last year, the hotel sector reported a 10% increase in rates, reaching an average of $530 per night, while average daily spending per tourist reached $500.
In recent years, Los Cabos has experienced significant growth in its tourist infrastructure, which has allowed it to attract an increasingly select audience, which has led it to open new exclusive places this year.
Among the most anticipated openings is the Amanvari of the Aman Resorts chain, which will open this year and will have large terraces that will be connected to 18 rooms.
Another important project is the Park Hyatt Los Cabos, which will be in an 1,800-acre development. This resort will have a 59,000-square-foot wellness center and five pools.
In addition, The St. Regis Los Cabos, a 120-room resort next to a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, with personalized service from private butlers, is expected to open in 2026.
Finally, The New York Times points out that Los Cabos has Cocina de Autor, the first restaurant in the region to receive a Michelin star, which has helped it promote its gastronomy.
