Steady arrivals boosting the local economy
La Paz is gearing up for a busy December, with three cruise ships bringing in thousands of visitors, cementing the city’s status as a prime destination for international tourism. Natalia Ruffo, Municipal Director of Tourism, shared that this influx will significantly benefit the local economy and promote the region.
Cruise ships Panorama, Koningsdam, and Grand P. are scheduled to arrive on December 11 and 18, with another visit expected on January 7, 2025. These ships will bring approximately 3,500 passengers each, adding up to an estimated 11,000 tourists by the end of the year.
To welcome these visitors, a flea market featuring regional artisans will be set up along the Malecon, offering unique local products. Established businesses in the area will also see a boost, as tourists explore the city.
Tourism officials and businesses are collaborating to ensure an exceptional experience for both national and international travelers, enhancing La Paz’s reputation as a cruise destination. With this steady flow of visitors, the city is poised for a bright and bustling holiday season.
