In response to complaints from local businesses and private associations about declining sales due to poor urban infrastructure, Karina, the O Government Delegate, announced a plan to renovate and rehabilitate the downtown Cabo San Lucas area just in time for the high tourist season.
The delegate explained: “Right now, we are focusing on improving the lighting. We’ve installed 60 new lamps in the city’s first square because maintaining the tourism sector is essential to our economy. By December, we will complete the lighting upgrades, painting, and planting of new greenery.”
After completing the downtown improvements, efforts will expand to local neighborhoods, focusing on cleaning and improving public services. The delegate also encouraged residents to participate by keeping the front of their properties clean.
“We’re fortunate to have volunteers coordinating efforts and ensuring that no neighborhoods are left behind,” the delegate added.
