International Tourists Arrival by Air Continues to Increase!

Mexico’s Growing Allure

Mexican Secretary of Tourism Josefina Rodríguez announced that during the first quarter of this year, more than 6 million foreign tourists arrived in Mexico by air.

This represents a 3.5% increase compared to 2024 and 16.6% more than in 2019, when 5,249,000 tourists arrived.

The main countries from which foreign tourists arrived by air to Mexico in the first three months of 2025 were the United States, Canada, and Argentina, totaling 5,188,000 tourists. This is 7.4% more than in 2024 and 28.6% higher than 2019, Rodríguez indicated.

From January to March 2025, air arrivals from U.S. tourists reached 3,858,000, representing a 5.1% increase over the same period in 2024

and a 34.9% increase over 2019. She also reported that air arrivals fromCanada saw a 13% increase over 2024.

The head of SECTUR noted that these figures confirm the importance of the economic relationship between Mexico, the United States, and Canada, as well as the need to strengthen, maintain, and reinforce tourism ties in the North American region.

Finally, it was revealed that 114,719 residents from Argentina arrived, marking a 32.5% increase compared to 2024.
