They are 100% VOLUNTEER without any funding or salary. They serve the communities around El Pescadero s as well as the communities of San Pedrito, Gavilan, Cerritos and Elias Calles, an area with over 6,250 people not including the thousands of tourists they get every year.
Griselda Sotelo is the Chief Commander of the Bomberos Voluntarios de Pescadero. She is the ONLY female chief in Baja! Bomberos Voluntarios de Pescadero currently has over 16 volunteer firefighters who work for her. All of them, including Griselda, are 100% volunteers. Their department relies solely on donations from the community to help support keeping everyone safe.
You can be part of it by attending Shaka’s Delicious Wood Cantina event in Playa Los Cerritos, presenting Johnny Ranger and Fader Magavin from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, Jan. 22nd and Friday, Jan. 24th. Happy Hour starts at 4:00.
They can really use your support as they need equipment to be able to respond to all calls. Everything is needed including gas money for the ambulance, rescue equipment and water for the tanker. Please come out to support a worthy cause and make lives safer.
