Here’s some interesting news that’s got everyone in Southern Baja talking: it turns out, women in our region are outliving men, and by quite a margin! The latest report from the National Institute of Statistics has given us a peek into life expectancy trends, and the findings are quite fascinating.
Ladies in Southern Baja are now expected to live, on average, up to 80.1 years. That's a significant jump from 76.2 years in 2010. It seems like the women here are not just living longer; they're setting new records! Nationally, women are also leading the longevity race, with an average life expectancy of 78.6 years compared to 72.3 years for men. But get this – only Nuevo Leon, a state in northern Mexico, has a higher average life expectancy at 77.6 years, just nudging past our state.
