SUMMARY:Isleño Film Screening 2026
DESCRIPTION:“Isleño” is a documentary directed by César Talamantes\, offering an intimate and visually striking exploration of island life\, the people who inhabit these remote coastal communities\, and their deep relationship with the sea. The film captures the connection between local traditions\, fishing\, nature\, and the challenges faced by communities whose lives are closely tied to their surrounding marine environment. \nThe documentary will be presented at the Teatro de la Ciudad de La Paz as part of a cultural and cinematic program celebrating regional storytelling and documentary filmmaking. The screening provides an opportunity to discover a story rooted in the landscapes and communities of Baja California Sur\, highlighting the human experiences that exist beyond the better-known tourist destinations of the peninsula. \nThrough atmospheric imagery of sunrises and sunsets\, boats\, fishermen\, coastal landscapes\, and underwater environments\, Isleño portrays the sea not simply as a backdrop\, but as an essential part of the identity and everyday life of its characters. The film combines documentary storytelling with powerful cinematography to create a reflective portrait of people living in close contact with nature.

One of the featured works mentioned in the exhibition material is Parece que va a llover (2018)\, created with oil on canvas. The artwork reflects the artist’s use of vivid colors and imaginative compositions to create scenes that combine everyday and fantastical elements. \nThe presentation of “ATEMPORAL” will provide an opportunity to appreciate the artistic perspectives of both participating creators and to observe the ways in which their works interact within the exhibition space. The combination of strong colors\, unusual figures\, cultural references\, and expressive visual language creates an immersive environment intended to encourage curiosity and personal interpretation among visitors.
