Mexican Traditional Tamales Festival Set for Tomorrow at the “Delegación”

The Mexican Traditional Tamales Festival will be held this Saturday, December 20, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the public square of Cabo San Lucas. Families are invited to enjoy an afternoon filled with cultural and gastronomic activities celebrating the diversity and richness of indigenous communities.

The event is supported by Mayor Christian Agúndez, who reaffirmed his commitment to respecting, promoting, and strengthening the cultural identity of indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples, vital contributors to the history and social fabric of Los Cabos.

Festivalgoers can enjoy traditional cuisine, tamale tastings, folk dances, Andean music, a brass band, and exhibitions of art and crafts. The celebration aims to create a welcoming space for community gathering and to honor ancestral traditions.

The festival seeks to foster cultural exchange, strengthen pride in heritage, and promote family togetherness in an inclusive environment that reflects the municipality’s cultural diversity.

The Los Cabos City Council invites residents and visitors alike to attend and take part in this cultural celebration, an opportunity to experience the traditions that shape the identity of Los Cabos.

  1. I worked in La Paz for a year back in 2012-2013 and I do not understand the comment from the article “strengthening the cultural identity of indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples”. I do not remember any “Afro-Mexican” peoples in the area – only Indigenous and Mexican people.
