Will your wishes for 2025 come true?
The pothole issue in La Paz, affecting both city streets and the four-lane highway, has been a recurring topic of concern. In response, the head of Municipal Public Services announced that in 2024, more than 2,700 potholes were filled throughout the city and its delegations, using approximately 220 m³ of asphalt. This was made possible by the Emerging Program and the proactive citizen reports submitted via the “La Paz App.”
Significant efforts were focused on neighborhoods like Loma Linda, Agua Escondida, Centro, Perla del Golfo, Camino Real, Sunset, and Villas del Encanto, with major thoroughfares such as Forjadores Boulevard also receiving much-needed attention. Additionally, in collaboration with agencies like OOMSAPAS La Paz, the State Road Board, and the Secretariat of Urban Planning and Infrastructure, crucial repairs were made on key streets including 5 de Mayo, 16 de Septiembre, Félix Ortega, Reforma, Bravo, and Rosales.
Though there’s still much work to be done, authorities are optimistic that ongoing cooperation between the government and residents will further improve the streets of La Paz. If you spot a pothole in your area, take action! Report it using the La Paz App or directly at the Municipal Public Services offices.
The La Paz App not only facilitates reporting of city issues such as potholes, water leaks, and garbage collection problems but also enables users to track garbage collection trucks in real-time. It’s available for download on both Android and iOS devices.
