It’s been a pretty good year for Los Cabos! According to the latest stats from the Los Cabos Hotel Association, our stunning resort destination will close out the year with an impressive 100,000 more registered visitors than last year. And guess what? Those visitors are paying top dollar to enjoy our sandy beaches and sunshine, with an average nightly rate of $503 USD.
Though the summer season didn’t quite hit the high marks of the past four years, things picked up towards the end of the year. Hotels are now seeing occupancy rates at about 80%, which is a solid 10% jump from the preceding months. That’s a lot of extra towels and mini shampoos, folks!
What’s even more interesting is the shift in the makeup of our guests. This year, the number of domestic tourists soared to a record-breaking 40%, balancing out against 60% foreign visitors. It seems more and more people from within Mexico are discovering what a gem Los Cabos really is.
So, whether you’re a local or coming from afar, Los Cabos continues to be the place to be. Here’s to hoping the trend continues and even more people come to experience the magic of Los Cabos next year!
