The Governor announced that in Baja California Sur there is a record of 1,186 cyber reports from 2023 to date. Most of them are related to acts of extortion, identity theft, defamation, threats and hacking of social networks.
“This result shows us the efficiency and commitment we have with Southern Californians to guarantee greater protection in the digital sphere. Therefore, he added that constant training in investigation techniques, technology acquisition and strengthening of the operational functions of the cyber police is necessary,” he stated.

The Cybersecurity Committee, which coordinates the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of the Government of the Republic, developed a questionnaire with various reagents where it gathered information on areas of interest and deliberated the ranking of cyber police units.
At the end, he called on everybody to remain vigilant when making purchases online, since this season is when cases of extortion or fraud increase.
