Estación Comunitaria Mares Circulares La Paz is a local nonprofit recycling center in the core of downtown. The name of the organization translates to: The La Paz, Circular Seas, Community Station. It currently operates a recycling center in a large warehouse on the corner of 16th de Septiembre and Aquiles Serdan where residents can drop materials such as plastic, paper, cardboard and metals as well as books in good condition.
To encourage more people to recycle, the organization offers an incentive in monetary value per weight for each material collected. Keep in mind that they are a nonprofit organization and if you can donate your recycled materials instead, it will be even more appreciated.
If you are a business owner looking for a recycling partner, the organization has an established pick-up program that comes directly to your location. This can be arranged directly at their location.
They are open weekdays, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for drop-offs or to answer your questions. While you are there, make sure to visit the charming library they created with donated books as part of their broader green enterprise mission.
Special shout out to all the individuals, businesses and organizations in La Paz who have signed up for this recycling program already and a big appreciation for the team behind the conception, operation and maintenance of this essential service.
