Many Sea Turtles Came to Spawn! Thanks to the recent rain and heavy sea currents, lots of Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) sea turtles came to shore in Los Cabos to spawn their eggs. The busiest area was the El Suspiro beach, near the Diamante development on the Pacific side. Carlos Villalobos, a member of the Los Cabos turtle protection program and his team, including employees of Diamante, Nobu and the Hard Rock resorts, were able to recover so many eggs that they had to build over 200 nests! This is sea turtle season and there were already over 10,000 eggs protected in nests around Los Cabos. The tiny sea turtles will be placed in the sea when they hatch.
