La Paz is about to get a fresh upgrade in public transportation! On August 19, the city will launch 20 brand new public buses, and they’re quite the sight. These buses are decorated to resemble blue Whale Sharks and have been playfully nicknamed Tiburones de La Paz. The new buses are not just about looking good—they’re also designed to be more accessible, with some of them being handicapped-friendly.
To ride these sleek new buses, you’ll need a plastic payment card. These cards are easy to find and can be purchased at various locations around the city, including City Hall, SAPA, the Finance Secretariat, the police station, civil protection offices, and at the Olachea, Bravo, and Madero markets.
