Mayor Oscar Leggs dropped a bombshell last week: his crew is renting 10 garbage trucks for at least ten days until the 16 shiny new ones he ordered roll in. Turns out, most of the old trucks are on their last legs, with less than a dozen still chugging along to serve all of Los Cabos—Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, Migriño, Santa Anita, Santiago, Miraflores, Buenavista, and the rural areas nearby.
To make matters worse, some neighborhoods are now seeing trash pickup only every 2 weeks. It’s a real mess, and folks are starting to grumble. Let’s hope those new trucks arrive on time and can handle the load, ’cause nobody wants to see more trash piling up in the sunny streets of Baja California Sur.
