This is the story of a youngster called Eduardo Galindo, who decided to make himself known as Galindo Vive, which translates to Galindo (his last name) and the word lives. This name has come to reflect his decision to live each day as if it were his last. This philosophy has taken him from being a young man without resources, without any real contacts and no special knowledge that would differentiate him from the rest to become an international speaker in less than two months. All of this comes from the unwavering determination to make his dreams come true.
Galindo was born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, yet has lived almost his entire life in our neighboring state of Baja California, in the city of Tijuana. Today, at 24, he is in his last semester, seeking to major in business, and would seem to everyone like a regular middle-class kid with normal aspirations in life, yet he is anything but. Several months ago, he made a conscious choice that changed it all, a decision that would change his life forever: to live in the service of humanity. “This decision not only transformed me, but it has also allowed me and will continue to allow me to inspire and change the lives of many others. And it all started less than six months ago when I set myself a personal challenge: to give my first conference,” says Eduardo.
It is important to note that before Galindo had his “Aha!” moment, he was the typical centennial lying in his bed eighty percent of the time, putting himself through numbing endeavors such as unconsciously scrolling through endless TikToks, feeling uninspired with his life, without a real purpose, feeling like a radical change needed to occur. He felt as Chuck Palahniuk elegantly put it: “As the middle children of history, with no purpose or place. We have no Great War, no Great Depression. Our Great War is a spiritual war; our Great Depression is our lives.”
So, on March 1st, 2024, Galindo gave his first lecture and at the end of it, a young man approached him with tears in his eyes and said to him: “Thank you, you arrived at the right time.” “Those words left an indelible mark on me and gave me the sign that I had found my purpose in life. I decided then and there that I would dedicate the rest of my life to this,” says Galindo.
Now with a strong conviction about what he wanted in life, Galindo set himself a new challenge: to share ten conferences in two months or less because a dream without a deadline is just a dream. It is the setting in the action of said dream that changes everything. This challenge was not only to test himself but also to apply the principles he shares in his lectures and confirm that they work.
Galindo proposes to live life and decide who you want to be through multiple principles and personal values such as respect, introspection, total empathy, constant gratitude, inexhaustible resilience, humility that unites, total commitment to yourself, perseverance, unlimited bravery, iron discipline, constant innovation, unbreakable trust, optimism, flexibility, patience, deep self-awareness, continuous learning, effective communication and infinite curiosity.
He has given over twenty lectures including one in Anaheim, California, and another in Houston, Texas, as well as several in Tijuana and other cities in Mexico, successfully finishing his challenge in one month and 28 days and sharing the stage with important local figures.
“Now, looking to the future, I have a new vision: to organize a conference titled “VIVE” at the end of the year. This event will focus on how the most successful people in the region have come to live to the fullest with extraordinary results. I want this conference to be a platform for others to share their success stories and to inspire more people to live fully,” says Galindo.
As Eduardo says, “My mission is clear, to inspire others to change their reality and live the life they really want to live, by example. To give up many lives for one that is worth living”.
Because deciding, in the end, is rejecting everything that was not decided. So, choosing, for example, to be a professional football player implies giving up every other possibility, giving up being anything else that does not entail the life of a footballer.
All of this requires us to break the status quo and re-signify what education should mean. Let’s remember that the concept of education since the Industrial Revolution focused on the child’s body, to discipline it, seeking to achieve order, install a correct posture, silence and submission. This kind of discipline had a pervasive nature, to domesticate and integrate them into the workforce of those days.
Nowadays, we have to start thinking for ourselves. Galindo suggests exercising a concept called – living a life in 24 hours – where we abandon living in the future in our heads, thinking that we will be happy whenever we buy that house, get married or achieve certain specific milestones. Because many times, by doing so, we end up living more or less the same life throughout our whole lives. Imagine how sad that there are people who live in the same year eighty times.
Instead, by focusing on what is important and seeking certain specific goals, we can choose who to be and by doing so, we end up living several lives in our lifetime. How exciting is that!
Today Galindo is finishing his business degree and writing a book, traveling, sharing his insights, approaching the media and spreading his message. Galindo describes himself as under construction and is always looking for luck, but luck is defined as a rare event that takes place when preparation meets opportunity. Galindo Vive!
