Earlier this year, we shared the exciting news that Mexico’s Secretariat of Tourism was expanding its Magical Towns program to include “Magical Neighborhoods,” spotlighting charming areas of traditional Mexican beauty. Well, we’ve got some great local news: San Jose del Cabo’s downtown has been selected as one of the 12 inaugural barrios to receive this prestigious designation! This recognition not only honors the historical and cultural richness of San Jose del Cabo but also promises additional funding to preserve and enhance its picturesque charm.
Unlike its neighbor Cabo San Lucas, which wasn’t included this time around, San Jose del Cabo’s downtown has secured its spot in the spotlight for its unique appeal and cultural significance. Who knows, maybe Cabo San Lucas will get its chance when they launch a “Party Neighborhoods” program someday! Until then, let’s celebrate San Jose del Cabo’s well-deserved recognition and look forward to seeing how this initiative helps preserve the beauty of our beloved community.
