The state government’s infrastructure secretariat announced that the construction of a new bridge at Santa Cruz, at the entrance to the road to La Ribera, will begin this coming week. This road usually floods during summer storms, leaving La Ribera cut off from the rest of the region. Now that La Ribera is becoming the site for new, ultra-luxury resorts, that’s a no-no.
In addition to the Santa Cruz bridge, the government is also planning to modernize over 15 miles of the road from Tortugas Bay to Punta Eugenia in the Mulege municipality. This project is set to start this coming week as well.
These infrastructure improvements are essential for the growing region, ensuring better connectivity and safety for residents and visitors. So, if you’re heading that way, be prepared for some construction activity but look forward to smoother and more reliable travel in the near future.
