Hurricane Norma Good for San Jose’s Estuary. The amount of water that flowed down from the mountains to the San Jose estuary washed away 80% of the invasive but beautiful water hyacinths. Its species are perennial aquatic plants (or hydrophytes) with prostrate and densely branched stems. The inflorescences can have one to 30 conspicuously attractive flowers, mostly lavender to pink in color, rarely white. Thank you, Norma, you saved us a lot of work and money!
