The Dutch lunch at Fuego Latin Street Food restaurant on Thursday, June 15 was amazing! So said not one, but many of the 25 members and guests that attended the monthly event of Los Cabos Tomatoes, “the” social and networking organization in Los Cabos. This quaint and artistic space serves some of the best food in all of Cabo and it’s not your usual “street food”. First off, the Portobello mushroom salad was like nothing they had ever tasted: the mixture of greens, berries, goat cheese and a dressing made many beg for the recipe.
Then came the main course with the most unique selection of entrees: Octopus with spicy Tamarind sauce and grilled jicama; or chicken breast marinated with pesto; or lightly breaded shrimp served on a clothesline with three sauces; or Flap meat with chimichurri. Everyone received a side dish of sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top flamed table-side. And for dessert, crème Brûle, again flamed at the table to form a delicious, sugary crust on top of the creamy custard.
This place is called “Fuego” for a good reason; fuego means “fire” in Spanish and this eatery makes good use of it in many ways, from grilling to flaming dishes. Several members have commented how they love attending the luncheons because they are introduced to new restaurants that they ordinarily would not know about. Such is the case of Fuego, located at the corner of Hidalgo and Carranza in Centro Cabo and with parking! Be sure to go for lunch or dinner with your friends and family members. The chef-owner, Polo De Anda will welcome you. Call 624-123-2696 for reservations.
