Mexico’s Federal government environmental secretariat has temporarily denied the development of two 5-star hotels and luxury residences in the pristine Conception bay, north of Loreto. The 537 hectare (1,326 acres) area to be developed would include, in addition to the hotels, an 18-hole golf course, an artificial lake and commercial area in Santa Barbara point, within Conception Bay. Both the authorities and the developer will produce a second environmental impact study so the resort might be built in the near future.
