La Ribera at the East Cape Gets New Firetruck

La Ribera at the East Cape Gets New Firetruck

And it  is named after Maria Lomelli, the woman who lost her life in a house fire in La Ribera in August of 2019. Her death was what pushed local Gringo and former Carson City Fire Department member Steve Alcorn to try to make changes.
Maria is a 1996 Spartan and was bought via donations at a small town north of Sacramento, California. She had new front tires installed  and her fluids and filters replaced. She will then be driven to Southern California and made ready for transport. She will be loaded onto a lowboy trailer and trucked from the border down to San Jose del Cabo, where the firemen  will get training on her, after which time she will be placed into service on the East Cape. The goal is to have her in the station, ready to respond on March 1. Read the entire story on the January 31 edition of the Gringo Gazette!
