The Aguamayan company has filed a request to dredge 78,000 cubic meters of sand (equivalent to 839,585 sq. ft.) from the La Paz Bay, at Pichilingue. This is needed to build the upcoming cruise ship dock that the ITM and Carnival Cruises group have obtained the permit for. The construction of the new dock also includes demolishing the Pichilingue port’s administrative offices, known as API to build a new one, including recreational areas for the cruise shippers, a restaurant, bar and children’s area. The construction will begin some time next year, once the dredging permit is approved by the feds.
