The Los Cabos government and the Yenekamu Association are attempting to declare the Faro de Cabo Falso, known as the old lighthouse in Cabo San Lucas, as cultural heritage. This would avoid having it become private property, as it sits on land owned by the Pueblo Bonito group, and it would force the tourist developers to open a public access through their property. The lighthouse was built in 1905 and is the oldest standing structure in Cabo San Lucas. The Pueblo Bonito group recently renovated it and is building posh residences around it.
