The 2021 Grand Bacchus wine competition held in Spain this May 24 to 28, ended in awarding Fernando Favela, owner of the Chateau Camou vineyard in Guadalupe Valley, northern Baja, the Grand Bacchus Golden medal. Favela won the competition with his Chardonnay Chateau Camou. This is his second Golden medal, as in 2018 he won it with his Gran Vino Tinto Chateau Camou and it is the only Mexican vineyard to earn this distinction. The Bacchus competition had 1,692 wines competing this year. Congratulations!
