Mexicans love to strike about pretty much anything, sometimes it’s for good reason, sometimes it’s not, but nevertheless striking is right behind soccer as the national past time.
Each year more than 50 children are born in Baja who will need heart surgery sometime in their lives. That’s about average for a population this size. These children are figuratively left on a mountain top by the overwhelmed health care system, which doesn’t even try to treat them.
We all have our fears, and Lord knows I have my share. I’m afraid of sailing out of sight of land for starters. I’m afraid some crazed Muslim is going to blow us all to kingdom come. I’m afraid some crazed reader is going to blow me to kingdom come for that last statement.
