Humane Society Names New Board President

The Los Cabos Humane Society is welcoming a new board of directors, with one big change. After serving 12 years as president of the LCHS board president, Aida Trujillo is stepping down.

Trujillo  has been a passionate animal advocate, and it was her vision, focus and dedication that helped establish and grow the LCHS into what it is today. She created many of the society’s successful community programs, which LCHS plans to continue.

Taking over for Trujillo as the new board president is Jack Fisher. Fisher began volunteering with the LCHS six years ago with his wife, Helaine, as a dog walker, and well, worked his way up. The pair moved to Cabo full time three years ago, and has volunteered at the spay/neuter clinics and the animal care center.

Fisher, a former attorney, spent 15 years as vice president of the Horse Foundation and the Spanish Mustang Foundation. He joined the LCHS board earlier this year as treasurer.

Other members of the new board include: Armando Martinez, treasurer; Carmen Zvonik, secretary; Marc Luc Poelvoorde, director; and Suzanne Hein, director.
