CULTURAL PAVILION

November 8 to 12. 6th annual Los Cabos International Film Festival. Opening gala with international nominees’ movies will be there with international recognized personalities. 

Every Thursday. 7:00 pm. Pavilion’s Movie Club. A different movie every Thursday. Sometimes in English, sometime other languages with Spanish subtitles. November is South American cinema month, and December is Orson Wells month. Free.

November 2. Thursday. 7:00 pm. City of God. (2002). Two boys growing up in a violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro take different paths: one becomes a photographer, the other a drug dealer. Portuguese with Spanish subtitles.  

November 9. Thursday. 7:00 pm. Los Cabos International Film Festival Red Carpet.

November 16. Thursday. 7:00 pm. Machuca. (2004). After the bloody military coup of September 11, 1973 erupts, two boys observe the political coup in their native Chile drifting towards civil war. Spanish with English subtitles.

November 23. Thursday. 7:00 pm. Our Lady of the Assassins. (2000). The tempestuous love story between Fernando, a successful gay writer who was born in Colombia but has lived in Europe for the past 30 years, and the 16-year-old assassin Alexis, who murders all too easily. Spanish with English subtitles.

November 30. Thursday. 7:00 pm. The Secret in Their Eyes. (2009). Ray, a retired legal counselor, writes a novel hoping to find closure for one of his past unresolved homicide cases. Thirteen years later, he finally uncovers a new lead that he's certain can solve the case. Spanish with English subtitles.

December 7. Thursday. 7:00 pm. The 3rd Man. (1949). Pulp novelist Holly Martins travels to shadowy, postwar Vienna, only to find himself investigating the mysterious death of an old friend, Harry Lime. English with Spanish subtitles.

December 14. Thursday. 7:00 pm. Citizen Kane. (1941). Following the death of a publishing tycoon, news reporters scramble to discover the meaning of his final utterance. English with Spanish subtitles.

Starting October 28. Every Saturday. 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Arts exhibits, live music, children’s workshops. Free entrance. At the Cabo marina, next to Solomon’s Landing restaurant. Spanish with some help in English. Free.
