July 28. Friday. 7:00 pm. The Pavilion Movie Club presents Cuates de Australia. (Drought) (2011). Documentary. Residents from an ejido (communal land) in northeast Mexico prepare for a mass exodus every year in search of water during the dry season. Spanish with some help in English. Free.

August 4. Friday. 7:00 pm. The Pavilion Movie club presents The Birds. (1963). A wealthy socialite pursues a potential boyfriend to a small California town that slowly takes a turn for the bizarre when birds suddenly begin to attack people. English with Spanish subtitles. Free.

August 11. Friday. 7:00 pm. The Pavilion Movie club presents Psycho. (1960). A secretary embezzles $40,000 from her employer's client, goes on the run, and checks into a remote motel run by a young man under the domination of his mother. English with Spanish subtitles. Free.

August 18. Friday. 7:00 pm. The Pavilion Movie club presents Vertigo. (1958). A San Francisco detective suffering from acrophobia investigates the strange activities of an old friend's wife, all the while becoming dangerously obsessed with her. English with Spanish subtitles. Free.

August 25. Friday. 7:00 pm. The Pavilion Movie club presents North by Northwest. (1959). A hapless advertising executive is mistaken for a government agent by a group of foreign spies, and is chased across the country. English with Spanish subtitles. Free

August 7 to 12. Various hours. Theatrical Professional Illumination Workshop by The Arts Professional Creators System from Mexico’s Fine Arts National Institute. This workshop is geared towards arts directors and theatrical experts. Spanish, free. More information: 624-191-4858.

Every Saturday. 5:00 to 10:00 pm. Art, paintings, sculptures, photography, live music, dancing. On the marina, in front of the cultural center. Spanish with some help in English. Free.

Every Thursday. 5:30 pm. Kids Movie Club. A different movie for children in Spanish.   

EDUSITER At Angel Herrera and Libertad streets

Every Thursday. 7:30 pm. Vagabond Movie Club. Every week a different movie, sometimes in English, sometimes in different languages always with Spanish subtitles. From June 14 until July 5 they will be showing a selection of Mexican Art Films.

WIRIKUTA GARDENS At the East Cape Road round-about

Every Wednesday. 7:00 to 10:30 pm. Wirikuta, the story of the ancient Huichol tribe told through modern dance, acrobatics, music and audiovisual effects. Includes dinner buffet and open bar. In English and Spanish. For tickets: www.thewirikuta.com.
